Traits and signs that resonate? How about all! 😸

What I love about your piece is that it provides a helpful overview of the ways in which Multipotentiality and Gifted can intersect. As you note, the two are not always connected; yet, when they do marry, powerful energies and dynamics can be invoked, both despairing and uplifting (sometime simultaneously or at least with the same day!).

Thank you. This is a reference piece that I suspect will be helpful in the future.

Thanks for your wonderful comment Eric. So glad my essay resonated with you. Definitely despairing and uplifting at times and at the same time. Wish I’d been aware of this intersection much earlier in life. Hope it serves you well🙏

This resonates so deeply. I always said “My passion is having passions.”

Always misunderstood yet always able to elevate the conversation to whomever it is with. Then thought of as too much when I try to show the interconnectedness of it all. I’m really trying to stay put right now and get a degree. Because I need to support us. Haven’t been to school in over 12 years and right back in to a topic of computers and math. lol I’m not even much interested in computers but think my love of solving problems and seeing patterns might get me through it. Let’s hope 🤞

Thank you for your thoughts and expertise!

Thank you for reading and commenting on this essay, Heaven. Greatly appreciate hearing from you and so glad my writing resonated. May you continue to have many passions! Good luck for this focussed period of time on computers and math. May you fly through it and reap all the benefits🧡

So true. Just about every gifted person I have met or worked with in my psychotherapy practice have multiple talents and abilities. Many learned from an early age that they might have to sacrifice one of their abilities or interests to pursue another. The challenge is trying to combine or keep the fire burning for those interests that don't pay the mortgage!

I can so relate to your comment. Many thanks. A lot of challenges for multipotentialites and thank goodness some are seeking your support. Over time - sometimes decades - what was sacrificed may find a place again in their lives, perhaps in unexpected ways🤞

AHHH this is brilliant, Lil! You really took me on the journey of this intersection.

So important to understand where these feelings and patterns are coming from, otherwise it would be easy to paint them in a negative light. (I am flaky, I am too much, I am master of none, I'll never build a real career, I'll always have to live my life in slow motion for others, etc..)

Instead, the focus should be on building awareness of and using these amazing strengths in harmony and appreciating that 'success' looks so different for someone in this profound intersection (as you beautifully captured it).

Historical figures offer us so much hope in this space. They didn't need to limit themselves or make themselves smaller, slower, more 'singular passion focused'. They didn't ask permission to be their full potential and nor should anyone in this beautiful intersection! :)

I love the practical messages so much. Thank you xx

Deeply appreciate your thoughtful comment Reem. Thank you for listening. Yes that’s a great point about historical figures offering us so much. Careers can be much broader and far more diverse than ever before, thus serving a multipotentialite who, with self-awareness, can lean into their strengths. Brilliance comes in so many shapes and sizes🥳🐾🙏🧡💪
